MY MUSIC
Lara Luna is an Alternative Pop/Rock band consisting of four members with roots dating back to 2016. During Covid we took our time to redefine our sound and streamline our songwriting – therefore November 2020 stands as the period where Lara Luna was born as our first single was released. Our debut EP “The Weight of My World” was released in July 2023.
I’m the frontman and the primary songwriter of Lara Luna. I play guitar and do the lead vocals when playing live – on studio recordings I’m also in charge of synths, arranging strings, backing vocals and production.
We aim to create accessible Pop/Rock with a twist – our musical journey has brought many memorable moments, and we have been able to release music, that we’re extremely proud of. Think of Danish bands like Mew and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, as well as the energetic songwriting of Scottish band Biffy Clyro.
We were selected by an industry jury for the talent development program MudMusic, and have enjoyed, several notable concerts, including performances at SPOT Festival and Midtfyns Festival.
Leading national music magazine, GAFFA, writes: “There’s no doubt that the band feels at home on a stage, and Jonathan Kjærulff Skovlund has a strong vocal… Lara Luna is worth keeping an eye on in the future – … all the ingredients are there for a promising future.”

In the summer of 2022 I joined the Math/Prog band Isbjörg as the new lead singer. The band consists of 6 members and our sound is centered around the piano. The combination of hard-hitting drums, distorted guitars and the playful piano is what sets us apart from other progressive rock bands.
The aim of the band has always been to surprise and break musical boundaries without compromising the songwriting. Odd time signatures and polyrhythms combined with catchy hooks and lush melodies captures the listener in an intense and captivating soundscape.
The song-writing of Isbjörg is a much more collective process compared to my experience prior with Lara Luna. On November 1st 2024 we have released our full-length album ‘Falter, Endure’ – and I’m extremely proud of it. I have contributed with lyrics, vocal melodies, and of course the general song-writing.
